Seed Flag Initiative – 1,500 Seed-Embedded Flags

RCPU launched a distinctive Independence Day initiative by distributing approximately 1,500 seed-embedded Indian flags. The idea connected national pride with environmental responsibility: after the celebration, the flags could be planted so that the seeds embedded in them could contribute to new plant growth. The project was designed to move beyond a symbolic Independence Day activity and create a measurable environmental outcome. Members, families, students and community participants were encouraged to participate in both the distribution and subsequent plantation. The final impact figure should be based on verified plantations rather than the number of flags distributed alone.

Date: 15 August 2026. Location: Pune / RCPU community. Status: Launched / Ongoing. Beneficiaries: Approximately 1,500 recipients/participants were connected to the seed-embedded flag initiative; verified plantation count is the key impact measure. Impact: Connects Independence Day participation with environmental action by turning seed-embedded flags into future plants. Team contribution: RCPU members, families, students and community participants.
